а) The history of the Spiners is considered one of the galaxy's great tragedies. A humanoid species with the ability to shoot quills from their backs at opponents, they have been driven into virtual extinction by natural disaster and their own violent tendencies.
Spiners evolved on a world hidden deep within the stellar cloud drifts of the Elrood sector, apart from the rest of the galaxy. They are stout, muscular beings with higher-than-average physical strength. They are covered in soft brown fur. Their faces are dominated by a short snout, over which deep-set, small black eyes peer out upon the worlds. Their backs are covered with rigid spines that they can raise or lower by tightening their upper body muscles. Further, Spiners with the appropriate martial training can fire their spines as ranged weapons in combat. Males and females arc roughly identical in build, with both sexes standing between 1.7 and 2.2 as adults.
The Spiner homeworld, Worxer, was destroyed when its star went supernova roughly 200 years before the Rise of the Empire. Fortunately (from a certain point of view) Republic scientists discovered the imminent disaster in progress, but even so were not able to rescue more than a few thousand individuals. These Spiners were quickly absorbed into galactic society. Little of their own culture survived, since their traditions were mostly incompatible with the alien societies they settled near or within, and Spiner technology (with the exception of certain geothermal energy management techniques) had been well below galactic standard. Their ancient language, Worxi, became lost to them, and Basic became the Spiners "native" tongue.
It is widely believed that the current Spiner population is too small for the species to retreat from inevitable extinction (unknown to most, the surviving population is also becoming sterile due to a lack of certain nutrients found only in the Elrood sector). However, interested historians have pointed out that some Spiner colonies may yet dot the Elrood region, many such records having been lost during the chaotic Rise of the Empire.
Special Qualities: Quills—A Spiner can fire quills from his body as though using a ranged weapon (2d4 points of damage, critical 20, range increment 2m, type piercing), and few, if any, Spiners would ever consider using a blaster. Spiners that take levels in heroic classes may choose to substitute Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Quills) for the Weapon Proficiency (blaster pistols) feat, and Weapon Focus (Quills) for the Weapon Proficiency (blaster rifles) feat. Quills grow back quickly, but Spiners can only use their quill attack four times per day.
Species Traits: +2 Str, +4 Dex, -2 Con, -2 Wis, -2 Cha.
Automatic Language: Basic.
Common Spiner names: Briss, Devik, Fifter, Firril, Jerrid, Meejen, Prikler, Toira
Homeworld - Worxer. Worxer, also called Yablon, was a planet in the Degan Gas Clouds of Elrood sector. It was destroyed when its sun went supernova in 232 BBY. The Galactic Republic only managed to evacuate a few of the native Spiners, and by the time of the Galactic Civil War, most people believed the species extinct, a mistake not far from the truth.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Fallanassi3.
Alter Environment was a Force power that involved various techniques that allowed the user to manipulate nature, enabling the creation of phenomena such as Force whirlwinds or fog that could be used to attack or to shield the user from opponents. Plo Koon further modified this ability with his considerable knowledge of physics.
Alter Environment could be used to manipulate temperatures, creating freezing sub-zero temperatures in seconds, or blistering heat that could burn. With this ability, a user could generate electrical discharges over broad expanses of ground, vacate areas of air, or increase the pressure of the air to burst eardrums. The power allowed a Force-adept to form small earthquakes and fissures or gather the moisture in the air to bring about flash floods. Moreover, Alter Environment could influence already existing natural occurrences. For instance, a thunderstorm could be manipulated to unleash a burst of lightning, rain clouds to start up torrential rains, or cause the sky to hail. Windswept seas could be coaxed to rear up in massive waves or form whirlpools.
This ability utilized the innate Force energy, or life force, of the object being manipulated instead of the Force energy of the user. In other words, when a Jedi used this power, he would use a small amount of his own power to harness the innate power already present. This could lead to the formation of killer waves and lightning storms with minimum effort and concentration, and depending on the amount of energy expended, little stamina. A greater knowledge in physics would result in more precise control, and a larger range of methods this power could be used, as well as improve the time it took to enact. However, a being would need to monitor the effects in order to keep them from spreading to disastrous consequences.
Streen was a notable adept of this Force ability.
Precognition was a universal Force power.
The ability of foresight was perhaps universal to the Jedi or Force sensitive and was manifested in the form of Force Visions of future events, or helped the Jedi predict his opponent's movements. Carnor Jax trained in the art.
Battle Precognition was a variant of precognition that allowed one to sense the flows of the Force and anticipate an opponent's moves, increasing reaction time in combat.
Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon possibly using Battle Precognition.
Jedi Padawan Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy (better known as "Scout") might have had this power. The Jedi Knight Revan and the Jedi Exile were known to be gifted users of Battle Precognition. The Jedi Exile learned this ability from Brianna. Darth Bane also possessed a natural ability for precognition before he even began training as a Sith. Nova Stihl possessed a nearly identical ability, which he called Blink.
The Echani were known to possess a variant of this ability which did not draw from the Force but from the warrior's own instincts. The most elite Echani warriors were able to predict battles and even the course of a war. It was probable that such outcomes grew more likely or unlikely as critical moments approached and passed.
Another variant of precognition was Blink, the name given to an unconscious ability that stormtrooper sergeant Nova Stihl possessed. This power, which was in reality a manifestation of his latent Force-sensitivity, allowed him to anticipate others' actions when engaged in a fight.
Force Body was a type of Force technique which allowed any Force-sensitive to push their body's endurance past a safe limit, ignoring and possibly sacrificing their health and well-being, in order to sustain their connection to the Force.
Theran Force-listening was a Force technique used by the Theran Listeners to hear through the Force. With it, Force-sensitives could understand words in another language or listen to beings talking from a distance. Jacen Solo learned the technique from the Therans after the Yuuzhan Vong War, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi were also known to have used this ability. Jaina Solo also used this tecnique to listen to Boba Fett three floors above her while on a starship.
Force Flash was a Force power employed when the person using it did not want to be seen. Related to Droid Disable, the user could temporarily disable a security holocam, causing a brief period of static, allowing the user to pass while only alerting security to a minor holocam malfunction.
The only recorded users of this ability were Lumiya, Alema Rar, Jacen Solo, Leia Organa Solo, Ben Skywalker, and Seff Hellin, though it seems reasonable to assume that most Jedi could acquire it with practice. Due to the nature of it, it is quite possible that others knew how to use it but are not seen in the appropriate situation.
Force Suppression was a Force technique used to attack the will of the target, canceling all first and second tier Force powers. This would individually affect each active Force power. This technique took a great deal of focus to accomplish.
Force Breach was an advanced variant of Force Suppression that interrupted all powers in use by the target at the time. It was a technique employed when a foe was preparing for a Force-based attack by disrupting their concentration and scrambling their focus. Force Breach was not a widely known Force power; it was most often used by some of the more powerful Jedi and Sith in ancient times.
The Force ghost was the soul and essence of a deceased Force-sensitive who denied the will of the Force upon death, yet was able to interact with the living, albeit not physically.[1] Some Sith Lords learned similar techniques, which in some cases allowed them to physically interact with their environment.
According to the Jedi tradition, death was a part of life, and it meant becoming one with the Force. In death, sentients lost their ability to communicate with the living, but mastery of certain obscure paths of learning could avert it.
The origins of that knowledge, as well as its history, are not known. Ancient Jedi of the Galactic Republic such as Arca Jeth, as well as Sith Lords, knew a secret which could enable the user's essence to "survive death," but this knowledge was somehow lost over the millennia, perhaps with the destruction of the Jedi library world of Ossus in the Exar Kun Wars or the First Jedi Purge. However, it was secretly preserved over the millennia by the native Ysanna, descendants of Jedi trapped on the world and slowly driven to barbarism.
Qui-Gon Jinn was the first of the recent Jedi who rediscovered this secret with the assistance of a Shaman of the Whills. Qui-Gon's spirit guided Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi and revealed to them the secret of retaining one's individuality after becoming one with the Force. Yoda during his exile taught it to another Jedi Master, Qu Rahn. The Dark Woman also learned of it at some point—perhaps Qui-Gon also appeared to her during her years in hiding on Cophrigin 5.
Death for those Jedi were different: their spirits could retain their individuality and could return as voices, dreams, or apparitions at will, so that they could help those in need of their guidance. On death, their bodies vanished; this was not the case with Qui-Gon, however, probably being a technique evolved by Obi-Wan and Yoda, under Qui-Gon's guidance.
This state was temporary, as Force ghosts were an intermediate state between life and afterlife; after a certain amount of time, they would then have to move on to the Netherworld of the Force, another realm of existence. Darth Vader learned of this ability through Darth Sidious, and upon his death, the spirits of Kenobi and Yoda completed his training by granting him the last step in becoming a spirit. Anakin's spirit appeared as that of his younger self, prior to his fall to the dark side.
Certain Sith Lords had also discovered similar techniques. Occasionally their bodies would fade as Jedi would, though like Jedi this was not a prerequisite for becoming a Force Ghost. It was not uncommon for the spirits of Sith Lords to remain, bound to the living world through an object, location, or simply due to the force of their malice and hatred. Unlike the Jedi, however, the Sith could find no peace in this form, instead existing for restless centuries, eventually driven insane by solitude, memories, or dark side inflicted madness. In many ways, these techniques differed from those taught by the Jedi; the most distinct difference being the user's limited ability to interact with his surroundings. Arguably, the most proficient user of such a technique was Exar Kun.
It is assumed that spirits of Force-sensitives, although not fully trained Jedi when they lived, could also learn this technique; at least they could be manifested by the Force in Force nexuses, such as the Valley of the Jedi. It appears that masters of the Baron Do Sages knew a similar technique
